What personal data we hold on you

Information you provide when you register with the Club, includes your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, boat name and sail number.

Why we need your personal data

This data is used to administer your club membership, and organise Club events through:

processing of membership forms and payments

sharing data with committee members to provide information about club activities, membership renewals or invitation to social events;

promoting sailing races

publishing of race results

The Club does not supply any personal data it holds to any other third party.

We will hold your personal data on file for as long as you are a member with us.  Membership data is updated every year from annual membership forms.  Your data is not processed for any further purposes other than those detailed in this policy.

As a data subject you are not obliged to share your personal data with the Club. If you choose not to share your personal data with us we may not be able to register or administer your membership.

Comments and media uploads are blocked to site visitors.

We may use photos and videos of members and those choosing to compete in club events on this site. If you do not wish this to happen please contact the Club captain

How long we retain your data on the site

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We do not hold information form the contact form on the website.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
